General Information Zapp is a terrific web-based application system that is being adopted by more and more shows each year. With Zapp there is no need to send out sets of slides to each show you're applying to. Instead, you simply go to the Zapp website, register, get a user name and password, and then upload your images to the site. (They don't charge you anything to do that.) When you're ready to apply to a show that accepts Zapp applications, go to the Zapp site, fill out the show application, and then select images you want Zapp to send with your application to the show. They'll take care of the rest.
Zapp is a very easy and popular application system which means that more artists then ever before are applying to shows and you really need to stand out if you're going to get into the shows you want.
Obviously your work has to be unique and original, but it is also very important that your photography be of professional quality or you'll risk rejection. Yes, the cost to hire a professional can seem high, but what is the cost of missed income when you're rejected from an important show because you tried to do it yourself? Photography even in the digital age is more difficult than you can imagine - it takes much more than an expensive camera. If you want great images, hire someone who has the professional experience to do the job right! It is an worthwhile and necessary investment with real payback.
Applying to shows with professional images is best but it is also possible that the images you have can be improved by a professional like myself who may know a bit more than the guy next door.
